"Rediscover Maldives Webinar Series" Campaign Kicks Off

Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) have been taking a series of marketing initiatives since the Maldives opened its borders to international tourists on 15th July 2020.

With the launch of MMPRC’S first initiative “Rediscover Maldives… the Sunny Side of Life” campaign, receiving remarkable positive feedback, MMPRC decided to step up the game by introducing “Rediscover Maldives Webinar Series”, a component of the crisis recovery action plan, targeted to reconnect with the travel trade and the media of specific markets globally.

The webinar series will consist of 4 sessions of 1 hour each in total, held once a week for selected markets. It is hosted by MMPRC in the format of a panel discussion where PR representatives from each market and industry partners will join.

Here are the scheduled dates for the webinar series:

Middle east – 1st September 2020

UK, Germany, France, Italy and USA – 8th September 2020

South East Asia, India, China, Korea, Japan and Australia – 10th September 2020

Russia and CIS – 14th September 2020

These series of destination awareness webinars are to create awareness of Maldives being one of the safest countries for a holiday due to its stringent measures in tourist premises and safety provided by its unique geography.

The webinars will discuss the COVID-19 impacts and emphasize on the strategies taken for recovery in the tourism industry, as well as introduce the new norms in traveling and rebuild the confidence in the destination as a “safe haven” for tourists.

MMPRC has also initiated a campaign “A Dozen Must Do Experiences in the Maldives” during the first session of the webinar series held on September 1st 2020. The purpose of this campaign is to promote unique experiences, such as flying above the islands, swimming freely in harmony with nature and treehouse adventures, to connect with and entice them to visit the destination.
