He highlighted the increasing number of airlines and passengers utilizing the airport, reinforcing the need for robust security measures. The Apex Security Assessment is seen as a vital component of this effort, with plans to develop a tailored action plan based on the assessment's findings.
The assessment will leverage the expertise of experienced airport security professionals, ensuring that the findings lead to effective and practical improvements. Conducted in collaboration with the European Civil Aviation Conference (ECAC), the Apex Security Assessment is designed to identify areas for enhancement in security protocols and operations at VIA.
MACL remains committed to maintaining international safety and security standards at Vellana International Airport. The company collaborates with various global organizations, including the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), ACI, and the International Air Transport Association (IATA), to continuously strengthen airport operations and safety measures.
