National Hotels and Guesthouse Association of the Maldives (NHGAM) has announced that they are planning to establish a marketing platform for guesthouses in the Maldives. The association passed the decision at its General Meeting held in the island of Maafushi.
With the brand name ‘I am Maldives’ the platform will be used to showcase and promote specific islands and atolls. Under this brand, different marketing activities such as fairs can be executed in collaboration with guesthouses.
Following the announcement, many high-class tourism organizations have expressed their praise for NHGAM including MATATO, MATI and the national flagship carrier of the Maldives, Maldivian as well. The association has also recently announced that they will be releasing an annual magazine focused on hotels and guesthouses in the Maldives.
Founded in 2014 as Guesthouse Association of the Maldives, the association was later rebranded to National Hotels and Guesthouse Association of the Maldives. The association strives to provide a voice for the local tourism sector and advocates for the rights of hotels ad guesthouses all over the country. Through its years of service, the association has grown and is now the forefront NGO in the local tourism industry. Their works include carrying out research projects, creating awareness and marketing the local tourism sector of the country.
