Yesterday, Manta Air announced that it has signed with JA Manafaru and will be now catering charter service to the Hoarafushi Airport. As per the agreement, Manta Air will commence daily flight operations between Velana International Airport and Hoarafushi Airport. The operations will be conducted by using the newest addition to their fleet, the Beechcraft 1900D.
The debut flight to the airport was commemorated in high spirits with passengers being welcomed to the traditional rhythms of Maldivian Boduberu. The welcoming procession was followed by a special ceremony organized b Regional Airports company and the Island Council. During the ceremony, the acclaimed Maldivian hospitality was shown with the presentation of a traditional “Malaafai” by the island council.
The charter services will be operated via the 18-seater Beechcraft 1900D. Equipped with a high ceiling cabin with standing height at the aisle, the aircraft is fully air-conditioned improving passenger experience by limits. As one of the fastest small aircrafts currently available in the market, the Beechcraft is able to match the speeds of ATRs during its flights. Apart from the daily charters to the airport, the aircraft will facilitate for private charter operations as well.
