IHG Hotels & Resorts is set to expand its Luxury & Lifestyle portfolio with the addition of the Vignette Collection brand in the Maldives. The global hotel chain has announced a partnership with Roxy-Pacific Holdings Pte Ltd to convert Noku Maldives into a Vignette Collection property. This 50-key private villa resort, located on the scenic island of Kudafunafaru, will join IHG’s portfolio in December 2024 following a comprehensive refurbishment.
Chris Anklin, Senior Director of Development for South East Asia and Korea at IHG, expressed enthusiasm about this new collaboration. He highlighted the Maldives’ reputation for its stunning marine life and diverse dive spots, noting that the Vignette Collection brand will offer guests a unique, boutique resort experience while fostering positive community and environmental impact.
Noku Maldives will be the fifth IHG property in the Maldives, joining the ranks of established brands such as Six Senses, InterContinental, and Holiday Inn. Chris Anklin emphasized IHG’s success in conversion activities this year, noting that more than half of their new signings are conversions, reflecting the strong appeal and adaptability of their brands.
Chris Teo, Deputy CEO and Executive Director of Roxy-Pacific Holdings, remarked on the Maldives’ growing popularity as a top travel destination. He noted the country’s target of reaching two million arrivals this year and praised the Maldives for its commitment to sustainable tourism. Teo assured that Noku Maldives will maintain its distinctive character while benefiting from IHG’s extensive resources and loyalty program.
The resort, located in Noonu Atoll, will offer a range of high-end amenities, including 30 overwater villas and 20 beachfront villas, many with private pools. Facilities will include two restaurants and bars, an outdoor swimming pool, a fitness center, a spa, and a diving and watersports center, providing guests with ample opportunities to explore the region’s rich marine life.
Noku Maldives is easily accessible, with a 45-minute seaplane ride from Velana International Airport or a 40-minute flight to Maafaru Domestic Airport, followed by a short speed boat ride.
Since its launch in August 2021, the Vignette Collection has grown to 18 locations worldwide, including properties in Portugal, the UK, Thailand, the UAE, and Australia. This new addition in the Maldives will enhance the collection’s global presence, offering travelers an exceptional experience that blends luxury with local authenticity.
