The flagship carrier of the State of Kuwait, Kuwait Airways have announced that they will be making their debut in the Maldivian skies this October. Direct flights to the Maldivian isles will commence this coming October on 31st.of the month.
With the class commercial aircraft Airbus A320 being designated for the operations, the airline has announced that they will be flying weekly twice during the initial phase. Currently, flights have been arranged for Velana International Airport only.
Tourist arrivals from the Middle-East have soared in 2022 with countries like Saudi Arabia making to the top 10 markets of the Maldives as of now. Due to the rising demand, many Middle-Eastern Airlines are flying to the Maldives as well including big names in the airline industry such as Emirates Airlines, Qatar Airways and Etihad Airways among them.
Founded in the oil boom of 1940s, the Kuwait Airways began with a very small network of destinations in the Middle East. In the 1960s the airline expanded their route map significantly and saw the arrival of Boeing 707s. Now the airline flies to numerous destinations in Middle East, Asia and Europe and features a fleet of class commercial aircrafts consisting of Airbuses, Boeings and even A20neo aircrafts.
