Wednesday 14th of December 2022

Manta Air, the fastest-growing domestic airline in the Maldives has disclosed plans to further expand its fleet with a new 12 DHC6 Twin Otter aircraft to be added to its seaplane service. The expansion greatly aligns with the company’s strategic growth plans and allows Manta Air to meet the rapidly increasing demand from its new resort customers.

Currently, Manta Air is seeking interested parties for the acquisition of 12 DHC6 Twin Otter aircraft on dry lease or for purchase. Owing to this, the airline has opened for parties to submit their Expression of Interest (EOI) latest by 15th January 2023 before 12 pm (local time). The aircraft must be scheduled for delivery dates in 2023 and 2024.

Speaking on the decision to expand its fleet, the CEO of Manta air, Mr. Mohamed Khaleel remarked “At Manta Air, we are continuously striving to expand and meet the demands of our customers. Our superior quality services now have been accepted by the tourism industry and we have seen significant growth in customer demand for our product. Our shareholders are committed to continue investing and expanding the company and these plans for additional aircraft are to create the capacity required for us to bring on board the new customers waiting in our pipeline. With the addition of these aircraft, we will be able to expand our network to more parts of the Maldives and allow thousands more tourists to experience the Manta way to fly.”

Since its inception of seaplane services in 2019, Manta Air has achieved soaring demands from its clientele within a very short window frame. The establishment of the local airline has been a revolutionary game changer for the domestic aviation industry, eliminating the uncertainty on flight timings and setting the stage for contemporary standards of service excellence. This includes pre-publishing flight schedules and promoting a customized approach that guarantees a comfortable in-class experience for all passengers. As of now, Manta Air operates at 3 prominent airports in the country across 6 regional atolls, connecting passengers to more than 30 resort & hotel destinations.
