Since 2015, nations around the world have observed the United Nations-designated International Day of Yoga in an effort to spread awareness of the numerous advantages of yoga practice.
These four resorts from the Marriott Bonvoy Portfolio in the Maldives held a variety of yoga-based activation and initiatives with associates and guests, with an emphasis on promoting a sustainable lifestyle in harmony with planet Earth. This was done to highlight the theme for 2022, Yoga for Humanity.
JW Marriott Maldives & Spa – Aqua Yoga
The occasion was marked at the JW Marriott Maldives Resort & Spa by a special Aqua Yoga session at Pool 18 led by their in-house yogi, Vishnu, as well as a unique evening session for associates to support and enhance their general wellbeing.
The Westin Maldives Miriandhoo Resort
The Westin Maldives Miriandhoo Resort, which focuses on wellness, planned a number of activities to honor the International Day of Yoga, including a morning Yoga Fusion session with a strength, flexibility, and balance emphasis and an evening session that was streamed live on Instagram in collaboration with The Westin Mumbai Garden City for both hotels' followers to virtually participate in.
As a preview the day before, the resort offered its Marriott Bonvoy elite members a private and complimentary 30-minute yoga session. The five-star resort provides an Eat Well Menu full of thoughtful options that keep guests fueled and focused on feeling their best as well as a plant-based menu that enhances gut health and supports the immune system in order to promote overall health and wellness.
W Maldives Yoga in the Rain with Sarvesh Shashi
The resort held its first ever Aqua Yoga session, and both visitors and staff members participated with zeal. For International Yoga Day, W Maldives, which is renowned for creating distinctive and daring experiences for its visitors, held a three-day wellness festival.
Sheraton Full Moon Resort & Spa
The best yogis in India, Sarvesh Shashi and Samiksha Shetty, joined forces with the opulent playground of ultimate #DetoxRetoxRepeat to spearhead the wellness-focused event. Sun salutations were practiced in the morning at the Yoga Pavillion at the North Male Atoll-based Sheraton Maldives Full Moon Resort & Spa. Vida Zorempuii, their in-house yoga instructor, led the class, which was followed by a fresh coconut water break for everyone to hydrate.
