Meet Mohamed Majid- The Newly Appointed Sales Manager at JA Manafaru

JA Manafaru has announced the appointment of Mohamed Majid as their new Sales Manager. Quite familiar with the Maldivian hospitality industry, Majid has worked in the industry for over a decade, bringing with him expert knowledge and insight into the tourism industry to JA Manafaru.
Majid began his career in 2011 when he worked as a transfer and reservations agent for the esteemed Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts. His first brush with Manafaru came two years later when he made a move into the team. Boasting an impressive background in sales and reservations, Majid has also been previously employed at Voyages Maldives where he handled the resort bookings of the firm.
During the rebranding of Manafaru as JA Manafaru in 2014, Majid was in charge of the airport operations of the resort as the dedicated Airport Manager. Back then, he was supervising the airport operations between the Manafaru and Male’. His excellent performance swiftly landed him another promotion in October 2020 when he was appointed as the Guest Services Manager of Manafaru. In this role, Majid took on additional responsibilities related to sales and was tasked with bridging the gap between the corporate sales team and local DMCs.
Speaking on his appointment, Majid remarked “In the last 7 years during my experience in airport operation, I was given several opportunities to enhance my skills and career. On this note, I would like to take the opportunity to express my gratitude to JA Resorts and Hotels for the contribution that they have been giving to the local community around the resorts and to the associates on the island”.
He further commented “I firmly believe that the long-serving associates at JA Resorts and Hotels embody the strategy and culture of heartfelt hospitality that the company actively strives towards with its workforce. I have achieved this milestone that I have been working very hard for several years and I am excited to start my new role as Sales Manager to give back my contribution to the company”.
