Maldives Marketing & Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) and industry partners are showcasing the Sunny Side of Life and its wonders at Fitur 2023. The first major international travel trade event for the year, Fitur 2023 brings together global tourism professionals and leading trade fair for inbound and outbound markets. The physical fair is being hosted at IFEMA MADRID’s Recinto Ferial from January 18th- 22nd and invites all industry experts and consumers alike to explore the vast array of experiences available in the Maldives.
The travel trade event sees the congregation of travel agencies, wholesalers, hotels and accommodation, carrier companies and even leisure & culture infrastructures. Being hosted in Spain, it also draws in Spanish official organizations and travel media of the region, providing timely business opportunities and access to highly qualified and relevant travel buyers, influencers and market professionals.
MMPRC is showcasing the Maldives alongside 41 industry partners ranging from 23 various companies. During the event, the corporation will be highlighting the different products, services and experiences available in the destination, emphasizing the plethora of segments in the Maldives.
The main aim of participating in Fitur 2023 is to raise awareness among Spanish visitors about the products and experiences in the Maldives and create a platform to connect industry professionals of the Spanish market to those of the Maldivian ones. As a special inclusion, MMPRC is also conducting raffle draws at the Maldives’ stand to give out free holidays to four fortunate winners.
Participation is open for both consumers and travel trade professionals and they need only fill in a survey questionnaire to partake in this exciting draw. The raffles event is held on the first, third, fourth and fifth day with a winner selected on each occasion. The giveaway is sponsored by some of the top-tier resorts in the Maldives including Adaaran Select Hudhuranfushi, Sun Siyam Resorts, Brennia Maldives and Angsana Velavaru.
Spain was among the top 10 highest source markets to the Maldives last year, with a recorded arrival number of 42,148 visitors. MMPRC is directing its marketing strategy to this region this year as well with many activities planned for the market. This includes promoting the destination through OOH advertising in Spain, joint campaigns with high-profile tour operators and online travel agencies and familiarization trips held for the Spanish travel media.
