Alila Kothaifaru Maldives have announced that an exciting leadership is coming its way with the appointment of Jamal Ahmed and Riff-ath Fareed as the new Resort Manager and Director of Human Resources at the resort.
With more than two decades of experience in the industry, Jamal is set to bring his excellent insight and knowledge to the resort as well as his hospitality expertise. During the span of his career, Jamal has worked with numerous global luxury hotel brands, filling in operational positions at esteemed resorts such as W Maldives, One & Only Kanuhura and Soneva Gili.
At Alia Kothaifaru, he will be overseeing almost all operations of the resort. This includes guest accommodation, housekeeping, spa services and recreational facilities. With a firm belief in delivering services sincerely and striving to improve the quality every day, Jamal aspires to delight guests with the authentic Maldivian hospitality.
Riff-ath Fareed began his career in Human Resources 13 years ago with the hotel chain Hyatt Hotels and Resorts. Back then, he was managing the HR department for the opening of their property Alila Villas Hadhaha which later rebranded as Park Hyatt Hadahaa Maldives. Throughout his career, he has taken up roles in various luxury hotel brands in the Maldives such as Anantara Maldives Resort & Spa and Lux Maldives.
Now an experienced HR and hospitality specialist, Riff-ath will be leading the Alila’s human resources and talent development and will play a key role in building a motivated team set on achieving the resort’s strategic goals. Apart from being an exceptional team player and a wanderlust traveler, Riff-ath has strong interpersonal skills and the space to think creatively.
In his new position, he wishes to make meaningful learning experiences for associates while creating an environment where all parties are aware of the link between purpose and performance- a trait that will empower them to do their best.
