Themed “Women Empower Women”, Sheraton Maldives has released its first podcast on International Women’s Day 2021. The podcast seriees will continue on a monthly basis with an emphasis on community, these series explore a wide range of topics that range from diversity inclusion, gender equality, sustainability initiatives as well as lifestyle, travel, dining, and vacationing in the Maldives.
On its first episode, 3 panelists discuss gender equality in the Maldives and the impact of Marriott International as a global force behind driving women’s empowerment. The 3 accredited experts in their respective fields are:
Rivero Delgado
Area Vice President for Singapore, Malaysia and Maldives of Marriott International, Rivero holds responsibility for the company’s Singapore, Maldives, and Malaysia portfolio. Privately Rivero is an avid athlete, often competing in marathons. She is the mother of two boys.
Yasmeen Rasheed
Yasmeen is the Assistant Resident Representative of the Democratic Governance Unit at United Nations Development Program Maldives. Prior to her current role, Yasmeen worked for the Maldivian Red Crescent as Manager for Programs and Services as well as served as Project Coordinator at the UNDP Governance Program. She holds a master’s degree in Policy Sciences from University of Sydney in Australia. When she is not working, she is usually hanging out with her 4-year-old Daughter.
Aysha Hussain Shihab
Aysha is the Secretary of Hope For Women with over 20 years civic service experience in Maldives. Prior joining HFW, Aysha worked for Ministry of Gender & Social Security as counsellor, Police Service for managing International Liaison, as well as multiple resorts and enterprises for Human Resources and Security positions. She holds a master’s degree in Global Management, International Business in UK.
