Resort Life Holidays Plays Crucial Role in Expanding Airline Connectivity with Eastern Europe

Resort Life Holidays, a Maldivian tour operator based in Russia, alongside Minister of Tourism, Dr. Abdulla Mausoom, has held significant discussions with airline operators in Russia and the East European region. The aim of the discussions was to increase the direct connectivity between the destinations and Maldives.

CEO of Resort Life Maldives, Mr. Mohamed Shaz had invited the tourism minister for the meetings. He is accompanied by Executive Director of the Ministry, Thoyyib Shaheem. CEO of Villa Hotels, Siyad Gasim, and Business Development Director at Villa Hotels, Murad Hassan also participated in the events.

A proposed collaboration was discussed between Red Wings Airlines and Resort Life Holidays to operate direct flights between Moscow and Maldives. Minister Mausoom informed the CEO of Zhukowski International Airport, Mr. Thomas W. on the various opportunities in the tourism and aviation sector. The meeting was followed with an MoU signing between Resort Life Holidays and Zia Tours, operators of Red Wings Airlines.

Minister Mausoom signified the importance of Russia as a source market to the Maldives during the ceremony. He spoke highly of the efforts done by Resort Life and travel trade partners in Russia to promote Maldives as an ideal post-pandemic destination to the market.

Another meeting was held with Nordwind Airlines, another potential operator to whom the invitation to fly to Maldives was extended by the Minister. He specifically informed on Gan International Airport, and explained the government’s plans to make it a hub of entry to the destination.
