Singapore Airlines Resumes to the Maldives

Tuesday 30th of March 2021

Today, the Velana International Airport welcomed back Singapore Airlines to the Maldives, almost a year after the global pandemic shut down the aviation industry. The flag carrier of Singapore has multiple notable accolades for the ‘Great Way to Fly’ that they offer, which now will be provided on three weekly flights connecting VIA with Changi International Airport.

This re-established connection opens a long-awaited gateway for travelers from the Eastern Asian region to travel to the Maldives. However, stringent measures are still in place to curb the virus spread in Singapore and elsewhere. As of March 29, a total of 292,204 tourists arrived in the Maldives.

When flying onboard Singapore Airlines, travelers can be assured of a easier, safer and smoother journey ahead with safety precautions such as enhanced cleaning and rigorous disinfecting, as well as meaningful innovations to minimize contact throughout. Confidence to travel is restored on Singapore Airlines with #SIAcares recognized with a ‘Diamond’ rating in an industry health safety audit.
