Some of the Maldives’ islands face water shortage issues during the extreme hot weather. Similar to last year, Ministry of Environment plans to provide water supply through Fenaka Corporation.
The Ministry announced the procedure to request for water supply along with the form and flowchart, which will be available on twitter.
Islands are to monitor water availability regularly and submit the request form 14 days in advance. After this, the requests will be verified and all work needed to be done to provide water supply will take place.
This isn’t the first time that the islands are struggling during dry season. In 2017, the country fought due to lack of drinking water for over 5 weeks, as a result of low production and weather.
