On November 15, 2024, Sun Siyam Olhuveli kicked off its festive season with a joyful Christmas Cake Mixing ceremony, an event that has become a cherished tradition at the resort. Held at the picturesque Watersports Beach, the ceremony unfolded against the backdrop of a stunning Maldivian sunset, bringing guests together to celebrate the season in a vibrant, hands-on way.

Inspired by the classic European Rumtopf tradition, where seasonal fruits are soaked in rum to create festive treats, the event invited guests to mix dried fruits, spices, and spirits. This festive blend would serve as the base for Christmas cakes and other seasonal delicacies to be enjoyed throughout the holidays. The atmosphere was lively and engaging, with the resort’s culinary team and management actively participating and sharing insights into the tradition’s origins, further enriching the experience.

Following the cake mixing, Sun Siyam Olhuveli hosted an exclusive Management Cocktail event to thank guests for choosing the resort as their holiday destination.
