Velana International Airport Breaks Records

Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has announced that the air traffic movements of Velana International Airport had increased to 811 last Sunday, and broke a record set on 24th December 2019.

On 5th January, around 252 runway movements were recorded on Velana International Airport and the number of seaplane movements was recorded at 511.

MACL announces that ‘the safety of our airlines has always been our utmost priority. While thanking our staff and stakeholders we are pleased to announce that on 05-01-2020, we had a new traffic record.’

MACL has previously requested passengers to attend to the airport three hours before departure to ensure a smooth travel process due to the busy and congested schedule of the airport.
